The Perfect Fit : How To Start an Image Consulting Business
Published in Paperback by FirstPublish LLC (01 April, 2001)
Authors: Lynne Henderson Marks and Dominique Isbecque
Average review score:

"the finishing touch"
This book is a must for anyone considering becoming an image consultant. It is very apparent that the authors have practiced what they are teaching. Every aspect of the image consulting business is covered including resources for necessary training which many authors omit. I have read many books on this subject and this one by far is the most complete. The contents can also transform a "good" image consultant into an "outstanding" image consultant. In summary, this book meets the needs of anyone remotely interested in this business and the "finishing touch" for those who have chosen image consulting as a career. Thanks Lynne and Dominique for sharing your life experiences.

Authors: Roxanne Henderson and Michael Brown
Average review score:

An Essential book for Kid's (and teens and adult) Games
"This book is one of the best you can get for all those basic children's (and teens and adults) games you know you know how to play, you just need to get the reminders. Hey, you might even find a few you didn't know you didn't know. We certainly did and we think we are pretty good at knowing lots of games (and we are humble, too) for lots of ages. Get this book and let it become one of the essentials of your bookshelf, desk and backpack." -Storyteller.net Reviews

Superb reference for home water systems.
If you are looking for a book that will enable you to build your own water system, or be sure you are getting exactly what you want from the people who are installing it for you, YOU NEED THIS BOOK!. Whether you are supplying a one room vacation cottage or a large farm, all the information you require is here. The illustrations are clearly drawn and labeled, the charts are concise and easy to follow, and every aspect is covered, from types of wells, pumps, pipes, wires and controls to how it all goes together to meet your needs. I truly have never seen a manual that has explained what you have to know as clearly and completely as this one. It will easily save you ten times it's cost, if not much more, in dollars and dissatisfaction.

Pocahontas
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (October, 1999)
Authors: Leslie Gourse and Meryl Henderson
Average review score:

A Really Good Book :o)
In my class we have to do a book report every month. The month of December we did biographies. So, I picked this book, Pocahontas. There are 176 pages of interesting events that happened in Pocahontas's life. Although some of them are sad, they are written in a great way. At the beginning of the book, the book tells you on what pages you can see nicely done illustrations by Meryl Henderson, too. This is a great book and I think you should read it. I enjoyed reading Pocahontas and so will you so go to the nearest bookstore and buy this book!

The Politics of Change in Georgia: A Political Biography of Ellis Arnall
Published in Hardcover by University of Georgia Press (August, 1991)
Author: Harold Paulk Henderson
Average review score:

Excellent political biography of Governor ahead of his time.
Henderson, a college professor at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, has done a great service by writing this scholarly and readable chronicle of the late Georgia Governor Ellis Arnall's political career. Arnall was Governor of Georgia from 1943-47, a time which saw various political controversies and accomplishments. Henderson arranges the various events of Arnall's term in a thematic manner, dealing with Arnall's fight to obtain fairer freight rates for the south, the "three governor's controversy of 1947", and Arnall's refusal to fight against the Supreme Court decision that overturned Georgia's "whites-only" primary.

While stressing that Arnall was much more progressive and liberal than his political opponents, Henderson doesn't shy away from exposing Arnall's flaws and his support for much of the segregationist stance of the time. Of course, no Georgia politician in the time period could have been elected state-wide who didn't support segregation, and Arnall's failure to be as much of a rabid race baiter as Talmadge and others effectively killed off his political career after 1947. All of this is presented effectively in the book, along with Arnall's support of education, his friendship with Henry Wallace, and his post gubernatorial career as a businessman, attorney, author, speaker, and his failed 1966 campaign for governor.

I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in southern history, and Georgia history in particular. As I stated earlier, Professor Henderson has penned a well written and informative biography of this important Georgia politician.

Pollen Path: A Collection of Navajo Myths Retold
Published in Paperback by Kiva Publishing, Inc (July, 1998)
Authors: Margaret Schevill Link and Joseph L. Henderson
Average review score:

A superb contribution to Native American studies.
Prefaced with a new biographical introduction by the author's son, James Schevill and wife Margot Blum Schevill, The Pollen Path retells twelve classic Navajo myths translated directly from her interviews of Navajo medicine men. The stories are enriched by line drawings of Navajo artist Andy Tsihnahjinnie and commentary by Dr. Joseph Henderson on Navajo myth and legend in relation to world mythology. Further embellishing this reissuing of the 1950 publication is the biographical material written by James Schevill. There is no doubt that Margaret Schevill Link led an unusual life. Her drive to seek out the authentic content of Navajo sacred tales has left us with a treasured legacy of recordings. In addition to the tales, there are many songs and chants in the appendix, plus multiple observations of the author from her many visits to the Southwest. She wrote: "The pollen path is the way between gods and men, and it expresses the harmony that should exist between them." This sacred way fascinated her and seeking it shaped her life. A contemporary, Wright, Henderson, Woelff, and Lorenzo Hubbell, trader, nurse, and philanthropist to the Navajo and Hopi tribes, Margaret Schevill Link translates the great Navajo tales of the First Worlds, the Turquoise Goddess, Changing Coyote, Earth Man, the Dreamer, and many more. The Pollen Path is a fine and beautiful collection of myth, worthy of pleasure and learning on many levels.

A Prayer Book for Remembering the Women: Four Seven Day Cycles of Prayer
Published in Paperback by Liturgy Training Publications (November, 2001)
Authors: J. Frank Henderson and Mary Louise Bringle
Average review score:

Fabulous Prayer Book
This is a wonderful resource, clear, simple, but with great depth. It is very valuable in bringing to mind many female biblical characters who are often forgotten. I use it in my daily private prayers but it would also be extremely useful as a liturgical resource in many settings. Mary Louise Bringle's hymns are beautiful and can easily be set to well-known hymn tunes. I would love to find a larger collection of her texts. My gratitude goes to both Ms. Bringle and J. Frank Henderson for compiling and publishing this volume. I hope they do more.

The Presidency Then and Now
Published in Textbook Binding by Rowman & Littlefield Publishing (09 February, 2000)
Author: Phillip G. Henderson
Average review score:

Inside the Oval Office
The presidency has gone through a dramatic transformation since the days of George Washington. The journey thus far has been bumpy and quite rigorous, altering the lives of many Americans along the way. In this book, Professor Henderson offers a fresh and unique perspective on the men who have and continue to mold and shape the presidency. Comprised of a collection of works by numerous political scholars, The Presidency Then and Now presents the most compressive examination to date of the office that so many Americans are affected by. Beginning with George Washington, the reader is propelled into a political journey throughout time, engaging not only the most prominent and influential presidents, but also the most imperative aspects of their ensuing administrations. Among the contributors to the book, Mark Rozell, also a faculty member of Catholic University's Politics Department, provides an excellent and detailed account of the use of executive privilege by various presidents, particularly Clinton and Nixon. The book concludes quite nicely with a final note by Professor Henderson. In his conclusion, Professor Henderson presents a critical examination of the Clinton presidency, comparing its style and presentation to other similar administrations.

Pride: The Charley Pride Story Story
Published in Hardcover by William Morrow (February, 1994)
Authors: Charley Pride and Jim Henderson
Average review score:

IT has the makings of a good country song.
Charley Pride may no longer be a fixture on so-called country radio stations, but he has more talent than a slew of those twenty-something rock and roll wannabees who command the airwaves these days. This book proves that Charley is an equally talented author, and what a story he has to tell! From his impoverished childhood, through his military experience through his promising baseball career to country music stardom, the rags to riches tale is told in vivid detail. Readers will put it down feeling like they've made a new friend. It also contains in depth portraits of his wife of 40+ years, family, and associates who include some of Nashville's biggest names back when country music was really country.

One question that will definitely be on your mind when you finish is, "Did that soldier from Alabama ever contact him?"
